Thank You Emmett and Grace !!
...as there is no better way to start year 55 for me !!
This was an idea Grace tried to interest me in about 18 months ago, a SB-8 set up like 2 bass guitars, where the Bass side is the Classic C G D A tuning, but the melody side is E A D G electric bass guitar tuning.
Way way fun, can't wait to plug her in to my double Ampeg SVT 400TH rack [which before you ask, no I cannot lift it !!] that goes into two Trace Elliot single 15 cabs with the dual ports.
Thanks again, as this fine instrument will inspire me for many years to come.
Cheers !!

Way cool, George! Don’t know if you ever record, but if you do, I’m looking forward to hearing from your new (2x signed) Stick bass!

Re: Thank You Emmett and Grace !!
I actually do record, I maintain a full old school production 16 track analog recording studio which takes up most of my house, but the problem is I completely lack the technology to transfer music to computer.
This is something which I will have to work on next.
Thanks for the extra encouragement !! *sometimes that's all it takes to get things rolling.....

Re: Thank You Emmett and Grace !!
very cool,
And if you ever want to "connect" the two sides, just tune down the bass side by a half step and you will have interior DBR!

Re: Thank You Emmett and Grace !!
Congratulations on ANOTHER Stick and yer bday! Just for the record I always wanted a StickBass (after the Ironwood) but went with a 12-string bamboo DBR as my second (and probably last) Stick. Although the string spacing is closer I am soooo used to it and I couldn't imagine playing a Dual Reciprocal Bass w/out those two high strings on either side. It's just part of me. And, Big George, you being a bassist first, you might be interested, I just got back my Danelectro Longhorn Re-Issue and inherited an Ibanez AEB5E-BK acoustic electric bass. So I'm set for awhile...HAVE FUN

Re: Thank You Emmett and Grace !!
AnDroiD that sounds way cool !! greg you are not the first to suggest that tuning option to me, but I am stubborn and am truly in love with C G D A, and I also want that to be seperate from the E D A G, which - incidentally, that C makes for a real good thumb rest while playing along with some 1980s RUSH on the E A D G electric bass half
