 Appreciation post for Michael Kollwitz
A respectful bow to M.K. This man has recorded and released a LOT of music on Chapman Stick! I went a-googlin' to see if there were any Chapman Stick renditions of "Moon River" Indeed, Kollwitz has two different versions out! A scroll through his Spotify catalog is quite a testament to the extensive work he's done in the studio. Big ups to Michael Kollwitz and his beautiful music. Looking forward to listening to more of this work. https://open.spotify.com/artist/5h5geRryaTaSw4PyHrvOKr

Michael was my first introduction to the Chapman Stick. He was playing at the Lahaina Banyan Tree Park in Maui. https://michaelkollwitz.com/book-stick-with-it/https://chapmanstickmusic.com/videos/

This is an album of him playing under that tree with Lance Israel on a variety of wooden flutes: https://michaelkollwitz-chapmanstick.bandcamp.com/album/under-the-banyan-treeMichael has many other albums on bandcamp too. PS. +1 for the book too. A very interesting read.

It seems that all of my favorite destinations are going up in smoke. Here's LA today. https://www.youtube.com/shorts/hY2hzgybFGo

Re: Appreciation post for Michael Kollwitz
When I'm in Canada (summertime), I use to work part time in a small city as a taxi driver (like Thelonious Monk and Duke Jordan did) and I use an application to listen to the music I like...Acuradio. He's the only stick player I can hear on this channel called Romantic Guitar. Everytime one of his song starts I know it's him.

We'll be heading to Mauai, with Stick, in 2 days (on Kauai now). I've played on Oahu, the big island and Kauai a few time. First Maui adventure

Michael's a boss and one of the OG adopters of the instrument! Awesome and very under appreciated player! Same goes for Leo Gosselin
