and he also plays the SG-12
In the book he writes that he suggested the name Baby Grand to Emmett if he ever made a 12 string alto: I second that, great name

Mike Kollwitz is truly in a unique class of early adopters, a Stick author and perhaps the most prolific Stickist on the planet. He'll have a new interview coming out with Will Kimsey in the next few weeks.
I was lucky to get a session with him last year. He does a lot live music and has a podcast that features a lot of local musicians. A great guy.
But getting back to Mike, you can find him in your copy of Free Hands, alongside some others, on page 52. TnT did a fun session with him back in episode 32 if you want to get to know him a little better.

Re: Appreciation post for Michael Kollwitz
I just wanted to thank everyone for their kind words in this post about my music and my book. You made my day. The years on Maui were a special creative time that I cherish even more now that Lahaina is essentially gone. Everywhere we lived and worked was destroyed in the fire. I was the resident musician at the Banyan Tree every other weekend for six years as a member of the Lahaina Arts Society, and I played this local favorite almost every time. It's "Lahainaluna" by Kui Lee. I recorded it on Sunday, 1/26/25, at a cold outside gig and thought you might enjoy it. It's a 'private' YouTube only accessible via the link below. Again, many thanks and much appreciation to all my fellow Stickists. Keep on tapping!
There is another album of all SG-12 that I recorded live under the Lahaina Banyan Tree entitled "Rainbows." It's one of my personal favorites and you'll find it on Spotify:

We were just on Maui last week, stayed near Lahaina. Sad to see the landscape after the fire. They will rebuild. Nice playing Mike. Hawaiian surf vibe

If it were on your bandcamp, Michael, I'd probably add it to my collection.
