Post Bob's "Colors" CD
I've recently been enjoying Bob's Colors CD. It's a collection of solo pieces, mostly improvised. I lean towards the more abstract like "Color of Space" for which Bob also made a video

but there are plenty of tuneful pieces as well, like this blues:

Colors is now available from SE's online shop.

That "Shades of Blue" is so amazing. I got Colors and Hemispheres from Bob down at Interlochen last summer, as well as 3 of Greg's. But seeing "Shades of Blue" comes at a good time for me, while I've been playing with trying to do left hand blues with the 5th tuning, instead of the 4ths. The secret seems to be the chords, rather than walking bass blues lines in the left hand, although Bob and Greg can certainly do that. I cannot, however--without getting two hands on the bass side, anyway. 4ths tuning is much easier for me on the bass, but Bob shows that it can be done, and done well. Wow!

Anyway, thanks for the videos--both were extremely awesome! Hemispheres rocks, too.
