Well Ive been wanting a drum stool for a while. Since I have my big real gig tomorrow I thought Id pick it up . Ill practice sitting on the stool so its a t the same height as my practice chair. Ive done a few gigs(I use that loosely) where i sit down and the seat heights are inconsitent which screws up my playing as I always play sitting down. Who else uses a drum stool? Or can you play sitting on anything? |

I usually practice sitting down, but play standing up using the belt hook, haha It's actually a lot easier to play "standing up" for me! Still, there's nothing better than a nice comfy chair... I have a gig tonight, could be a real fricken disaster hahaha I'm doing a Satriani type thing, just me, my guitar and amp and an ipod into the PA... Hearing my backtracks is sometimes an issue haha Next week I have a Stick thing to do, I might sit down for that one as I'll just be background noise... Anyways, good luck on your gig, man! |

Gigging, what a concept ![]() ![]() It sounds like your gig is one of those take up space occasions. No offense, I have done more of these two or three hour sessions than anything else. If money is important have your case open and ideally have some CD's on display ![]() ![]() ![]() But the drum stool? These are great for drummers ![]() because you can swivel around and pick things up without arms or a back to get in the way. For gigging though I think that 'Thrones' are way too heavy and bulky to carry around. I have used folding auditorium chairs: https://www.target.com/p/vinyl-folding- ... lsrc=aw.ds for a long time because unlike their all metal ancestors these chairs are warm, soft and comfortable. And they fold ![]() Take the long way home jRj *j* .~ |

I prefer piano benches, because I like to rest the belthook on the front of the chair, and the rounded front is not as good as the square front. |

I always have one of those foldable piano benches in the car... just in case there are no suitable piano benches at the venue... Enviado do meu iPhone usando o Tapatalk |

And what's better is that it looks like the Stick mounts in such a way as to be "free" so that one wouldn't have to use the 'ole thumbs to support the thing! I know lots of guys just rest the Stick on their shoulder when seated, but I really need to access those lower notes... Too cool. |
