Over the years I've bought and sold a lot of stuff online.

The simple rules of the free market apply, always. An item is worth precisely what the market will bear at any given time. Not one penny more or less. Period.

You can sell anything in a day or three if you price it right.

If you "need" to get a certain arbitrary number that's out of step with the market, then you'll sit on your item forever. That mythical buyer who's willing to pay what you ask will never come.

Likewise, if you "need" to see what you deem a good deal and that number in your head is out of step with the market, you'll be waiting forever. That mythical good deal you seek will never appear.

Look around. Do your homework. Set your expectations accordingly.

Just how rare are the grand plasma models? I always thought all three colors looked awesome and would love to get one. Have been thinking of parting ways with my 10 string grand in search of a 12 string bamboo (I like 12 strings more), but this topic reminded me how much I used to eyeball images of the plasma grand railboards in awe at their beauty

I'm not a fan of plasma Sticks. They look shiny when new but once they get fingerprints all over them, they lose appeal very fast. I always feared that the shiny coating would de-laminate like chrome peeling off of a car bumper. I prefer the warmth of wood. It seems more natural.

From what I remember likely posted here by Emmett back then, very few mirror polished were made and the last batch did not have the mirror polish, and then they all ended. I’m thinking barely a year. Oddly yesterday I heard on the radio the best solution for selling a true rare musical instrument-auction it at a charity event featuring rare instruments. Let the bidding war solve it among those with deep pockets looking for such finds. Some people, like the person who discovered George Harrison’s guitar in their attic got way more than they ever expected.

I actually saw Emmett play his live in a bar in Anaheim in 2015. Pictures cannot describe what they look like in real life. That instrument really surprised me as I never expected Emmett to actually offer an instrument with that much bling, but was an honest attempt to use an even more highly durable finish.

I actually have a gold plasma railboard.
Looks perfect, plays perfect, doesn’t get fingerprint dirty, it’s impossible to dent or damage as far as my experience, and from daily extensive usage I expect it to outlast all my other instruments.
