For a few years now, I'm a happy owner of "Internaly Matched" tunings, where C1 in the bass is next to c2 on the melody side. My Alto has an A1-a2 in the middle.

I'm not sure I entirely get the picture. Could you possible make it clearer by writing out the note names for the strings across one of the Sticks, maybe the Grand?

I'll be interested to hear how it goes. Presumably since they will be Newtone strings you'll have string thicknesses?

I ordered a custom set from Newtone, and since my Stick is a 10-string, I also ordered two "alternative players".

The starting point is as follows:
008
009
012
018w
026w
065w
039w
022w
013
009

I also added 025w and 020w. We'll see...

The SG12 is intransit and reached the 'local' carrier depot last Friday lunchtime, but since that is 100 miles away that was too late for delivery & they don't deliver at weekends. However, there is a very good chance I may get to see & touch it tomorrow (Monday). If so that will be ONLY 15 & a half months from ordering - nearly a year sooner than I'd anticipated when I placed the order. :D

Great that the SG12 is being delivered so quickly! I'm curious to hear what you say, I think it plays slightly differently than the Alto.

Thank you. In my preferred notation I think that comes out as

Bass: B3 E3 A2 D2 G1 C1 Melody: C2 F2 B2 E3 A3 D4

i.e. Like Classic 12, but strings 5 & 6 are each a semitone lower than Classic 12.

Do you think I have that correct?

Hello everyone, for me , as much by tradition as by habit and laziness, I’ve stayed with the standart 12 and 10 tuning. But at the same time it works so well :D

I'm sorry, but we do not understand each other. I apologise for my English and Italian-German marking of the notes.

My bass strings are always in fifths starting from C1. My melody strings are always in forth starting from C2.
The melody part is simply a lowered half tone:
- Baritone Melody tuning (for the 10-string Stick),
- or Classic 12 (for Grand)
or looking the other way raised by half tone:
- Deep Baritone Melody (for 10-string Stick),
- or MR (for Grand).

So the final is in your notation:
Bass: (B3) E3 A2 D2 G1 C1 Melody: C2 F2 Bb2 Eb3 Ab3 (Db4)

Now I understand. Thank you.

Thanks to everyone that has responded to the poll so far. I've posted the link to the poll on my FB site as well as on the FHF site. I've enjoyed seeing the discussions about new tunings and custom tunings.

If you are looking to help with the poll, which ends this Thursday, please feel free to share this link with your other Stick player friends.

The total is up about 29 entries from yesterday which is great news. If you haven't already added your tuning to the poll, remember that 2 instruments, including any that are on order, can be included in your response.

Thanks so much for your participation, cheers.

I'm kind of fascinated with the results so far. I had no idea that classic tuning was this common. Or that my tuning (Baritone Melody, 2 different Sticks) was slightly uncommon.

I've got my head stuck in my own little world...

This poll is representing less than 1% of the Sticks?
Can you imagine the results if every Stick counted?
