Re: String gauges for DBR
Has anyone ordered Newtone strings before?
Any recommendation between round and hex cores?
Any recommendation between nickel plated and stainless steel?

Any recommendation between nickel plated and stainless steel? Since Stick strings are made by D'Addario and they are nickel and nickel and round cores personally I would go with what The Master intended for his instruments.

Re: String gauges for DBR
I've had a DBR Grand Stick with medium strings since 2016. Below are the gauges on the list that came with it. The gauges on current models might be different, as Emmett was always changing things a bit.
Melody
.013 .022 .030 .040 .056 .087
Bass
.118 .087 .052 .030 .015 .010

For those of you interested in unraveling the mystery of string gauges for the different tuning, feel free to share what you have, and use what I have compiled so far, in this thread: https://www.stickist.com/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=16710&p=139870#p139870
