Post subject:  SOLD FS Megatar Toneweaver

Megatar Toneweaver tapping guitar made in 2009. in "as new" condition. It was played for a short time by the original owner and then stored till this year. Asking $1599.

The neck and body are sapele. The fretboard is wenge. Pickups are gold-case "Alnico 5" active humbuckers. Controls include bass and melody tone, nested volume for each, and stereo output. Two (side by side) truss rods allow for fine adjustment of neck relief on treble and bass sides.

The neck is set up with the Ralph Novak fanned fret system. The scale is 35" on the bass side and 31" on the treble side. Currently tuned in straight fourths (low to high):

Bass: B E A D G C (low to high, non-inverted)
Melody: C# F# B E A D (low to high, non-inverted)

Includes the original Megatar strap, tools for setting neck relief and string action, and a copy of the Megatar owner's manual. Includes an extra set of
custom strings chosen for balance tension.

That’s the same tuning I use on my sticks. I have a Ziggy tap geetaur. It has a very wide neck, like the mega tar. I prefer the stick, but hey, everyone has preferences.

I just looked at a close up of your axe. It doesn’t look like the tuning you described because the fat low C is not located in the middle position. Your Megatar doesn’t look like the bass is tuned in 5ths.

Bass side strings are tuned in 4ths from low B on the outside up to C on the inside (non-inverted 4ths). Bass strings are on the players right on the fan fret model.

Oh, ok. Sorry about that. I use a 6x6 Grand Stick Tuning. It's the same notes. I know the Megatar can be tuned in the 6x6, bad for me to assume.
