Terrific audio production quality. Super stimulating questions. He's a super interviewer and actually makes me sound semi-coherant. No small feat.
Lots to discuss. For all who are interested in the current status of my documentary, EMMETT. Plus all things music, love, work, art and commerce. Not necessarily in that order.

Thanks Gene! I can't wait to hear your impressions... and anyone else who has a chance to listen, please feel free to comment.
A couple of corrections:
In describing The Railboard's process, I misspoke and called it NCN processing. Whoops! What I meant to say was CNC machine process (on a milling machine).
Also when Hammond asks, "Had you made films before?" I talked about my college days, studying photography and design. I said "My senior photography student told me to focus on directing, because I was making these dramatic photo sequences with stills."
I meant to say, "my photography professor told me to focus on directing."
Re: Beyond The Playlist - Dan Chapman interview with JHammon
Oh haha, I thought that was a little weird. You had senior students when you were going to college?
Very interesting, it was good getting your perspective on things. For the documentary, have you ever considered doing some kind of crowd sourcing campaign? Or maybe going with a digital release? I'm not personally familiar with all the logistics, but I'd imagine a campaign where you offered "prizes" for donations might garner more attention, and a digital release would help cut down on production costs.

Thanks for listening and for being interested. I was starting to hear crickets.
I am planning to crowdsource, most likely on Kickstarter. I've successfully helped other filmmakers with this, so I'm very aware of the intense amount of time and energy it takes to organize an effective campaign on Kickstarter.
When you say digital release, I assume you're referring to online or on demand only. For me, it's premature to rule out theater screenings or broadcast at this stage. Most theaters are now projecting digitally. Also DVDs / Blu-rays are a very affordable medium, so that will be a given.
My real problem is carving out time to continue shooting and creating my final edit. That will take finishing funds.

Sunday morning listening to JHC interviewing Dan, and it's nice to have my professional and personal life recounted with special insights that only a brother would know - many thanks Dan.
And to James HC, you seem well studied on the history of The Stick and right up to current events with most of the active players. Also, I hope your maroon Railboard is serving you well.

I am very glad that Dan was able to spend sometime with me and share his thoughts and perspectives. Emmett, I am glad you listened and enjoyed it as well.
My Railboard is fantastic. I am proud to own one.

I throughly enjoyed this too Dan. My favourite part by far was your duet with Emmett at the end.

Thanks Jim.
Allaire was a great experience. A small beautiful town in Brittany, where the people opened their homes to all attending Stick players, putting everyone up for the gathering. The sound mixer for our concert was brilliant. The spirit in the auditorium was like Mardi Gras. The finale was "Brazil." And the audience couldn't get enough.

I have video of that too.
Playing onstage with my brother was a great moment for me. The international crowd was incredibly receptive. We hadn't played live together like that since Emmett released his Parallel Galaxy album. We would play at Donte's, a jazz club on Lankershim in North Hollywood with Bruce Gary and Josh Hanna.
Anyone who missed the JHammondC interview, check it out and please let me know what you think.
