Post Any major dude would tell you

A tune I have been playing out for a bit but never taken the time to record, hope you enjoy it.

First...my condolences...when we're getting older we have very good friends but, at the same time, we loose one of them once in a while. Sorry for your loss.

Here, again, I really like your tone...smooth. Nothing agressive. Very well played and we can hear this hands independance. Bravo!

Nice. I really like the bluesy piano-like riffs.
"Any minor world that breaks apart falls together again" - great message from a Major Dude

Thanks Rick, that line trips me up, but I'm pretty sure I get it...

I think this was as close as Steely ever got a ballad, maybe Pearl of the Quarter?

"Mean Regression" - kinda the nerdy mathematical term for "Karma."

Deacon Blues? Kinda the opposite of Major Dude though...

I suppose Deacon Blues could be a ballad, I really liked Aja. I feel better after I hear that album cover to cover.

Lyrically and musically, I think Brooklyn was a legit ballad. Third World Man maybe? With Any major dude, I don't feel those sly, double edged meanings that they delivered without even trying at times.

You don't look old enough to be into Steely Dan!
(I read a review years ago where the author said he went to a club after the concert, and when I said he just watched Steely Dan, someone asked if he was OK or if he needed an oxygen tank.)
OK, we'd better change the subject or we'll scare away all the kids.

Kids are so cruel. Definitely a lifetime fan also a big fan of Donald Fagen, although I have not explored Sunken Condos yet. My mate Mark and I had gone to see Donald Fagen here in Temecula at the Pechanga Casino and also saw Steely, post Becker as well so it felt right choosing this song to remember him by.
