Liquid Nixon interview prior to gig on 6/4
Hey Guys.
I had a pretty cool experience today(which just happens to be my birthday). Liq Nix was to be interviewed prior to a show we are playing this coming weekend by a lady who reports on local bands around Erie Pa. I thought it was going to be kind of a homegrown newspaper type interview trying to fill some columns of print between adds for touchless car washes.
Turns out there was a guy with a video camera there and it was a live interview that will be edited and soundtracked with our music in the back ground.
I thought it would be a good idea to have my Stick along for a visual aid when the inevitable "you play Chapman Stick, what the heck is that" question. That question didn't come up during the interview, but afterword our drummer mentioned that not only do we have the tallest frontman/lead singer in the area(at 6 ft 8 inches) we also have the only Chapman Stick player in town that we know of. Then she asked the question and ended up turning the camera back on and did a short interview with just me and the Stick. I don't know how much will survive the cutting room floor, but it was cool none the less. Unfortunately I didn't have my cable or amp since I thought the interview was taking place at our guitarists Record Store that is beneath our rehearsal studio, so there is no audio of me playing. But I hope it will draw more interest for Emmett's invention in Erie Pa. and surrounding communities. I think the ratio is 1 Stick and 1 WARR guitar for about 50, 000 inhabitants. So neither really dominate the market yet.
When the interview runs, I will try to provide a link here. Likely in a day or two, I think the interviewer thought.
Then our show is this Saturday night(or really Sunday morning-we don't go on till about 1AM)
I will be sure to report on that as well.
Mike
