the mod duo is the same. it's just a very smart stomp box. its form factor is similar to the stomp HX. you never have to hook a computer up to it if you don't want. i just use the ipad because it makes building configurations super easy. i don't use it when i'm playing for the most part. you control pedal boards banks and tweak plugins via the dials and stomp buttons on the box.

oh and by the way, if you want play via a midi interface via the stick gk pickup or a midi keyboard controller or a drumbox pad. it has midi driven softsynth plugins on board too. check out this video below and it will give you an idea of what i mean. i'm guessing the softstep (brother to the kmix) would be great to use with the mod duo beacause all the plusing can be controlled via midi. hmmm i might be getting a gas attack now :(

all this synth stuff applies to as well w/ regards to not needing a computer. which they make clear at the end of the video

To start, this is rad. Thank you Boaz, you are amazing and I really appreciate this comprehensive list!

I might add the QSC K12 and K12.2. These powered speakers are used by Emmett himself. These 2 channel speakers feature combo inputs (mic or 1/4") and one side can accommodate line / mic level inputs. Relatively light, durable and dependable.

Awesome thread. It gives a bad case of gas I made my own version of the mx16 mine has the ability to send either the bass side or melody side or both or none to up to four separate loop circuits (. 4 sets of pedal groups. I can post a picture of it if anyone wants. If you want the wiring diagrams for it I can send it to you or share it here. Cost me under 100 bucks Canadian to make so really cheap. Got my parts from done where in the states which makes it even cheaper to build. )

Presonus BluetubeV2 preamp

If you have a railboard and would like to use it in active mode
This a great 2 channel preamp with phantom power on both channels (although you only need phantom on one channel to make the railboard active)

Like many others, building the perfect rig can be daunting and expensive.
Knowing what I know now,the Line 6 Helix Floor is the holy grail.
All of my other pedals have been put back in their boxes.

You gave me a great idea! I have several inexpensive Behringer MIC100 tube pre-amps that I use with Rode NT1A mics. This would be a great test for the Stick/Railboard. They are cheap enough to run two separate channels.

I still get some of my best sounds out of the tube preamp models in the PODX3
