On the bass side Newtone strings, I replaced the .018 wire wound with a .013 plain string, because I didn't like the tone on that string.

If I add 'p' (plain) & 'w' (wound) markers to the Newtone gauges that makes sense (i.e. reveals the wound 10th), & adds more info to the mystery third set too, since 11 & & 12 are revelaed as plain (but string 12 is still thinner than 'set 2' whereas everything else is thicker?

Code:
.008p .009p .012p .018w .026w .091w .065w .040w .022w .018w

.008p .009p .012p .018w .026w .038w .095w .065w .040w .022w .018w .012p

.009p .011p .013p .022w .032w .042w .130w .085w .049w .026w .014p .010p

For my SG12s (that I use a lot for concerts) I once used to put a normal 0.009 guitar set on the side tuned in forths. For the side tuned in fifths I would have to put together a custom set, which can be done at Thomann webshop.

For my Grand, with the long scale, I have been forced to order from SE and pay the local import taxes (I think it is 25 percent). Until finding this thread. Thank you! :-)

Almost every stringed instrument that I've owned had custom string sets.

My PRS Custom 24 took 5 different string sets mixed and matched before I found the tone that I was looking for. At the end of it all, Ernie Ball had put together a set with the same gauges that I chose, called Super Slinky 9-42.

After discovering what I liked, I just purchased several sets from Ernie Ball.

After many years of playing with various effects, I've settled on the Kemper Profiler Stage as being the ultimate portable gear for guitar. The Kemper has only one input, so it's not a complete solution for Stick. My preference for Stick is the Helix Floor and it is simply the best that I have found so far.

Just to tell you that strings from NewTone arrived, even if I had to pay for importing from non-EU Britain I payed about half as much as I would have buying from SE. Strings seem a bit lighter than the old ones but they sound great.
