Lap Dawg Installation Issue
Hi everyone,
I received a Lap Dawg from SE yesterday and I've got a bit of an issue. I'm a tall guy and have the belt hook on the lowest setting (top set of holes screwed into the pedestal), and I can't seem to figure out how to install the Lap Dawg without raising the belt hook. I definitely do not want to raise it and thus lower my playing position while standing to accommodate the Lap Dawg. It does seem odd that the Lap Dawg will only work with 3 out of the 4 settings on the belt hook. Am I missing something here?
Best, James

Re: Lap Dawg Installation Issue
As the creator of the Lap Dawg I suppose I should tackle this one. First of all, the Lap Dawg is an aftermarket device I came up with as a more elegant version of the old drumstick across the knees solution to seated playing. As such I wanted to engineer it non-invasively around the angles and idiosyncrasies of the Stick's belt hook and mounting pedestal, yet make it as adjustable as possible in the space available without drilling new holes. Hence, the design of mounting it on a pair of unused holes in the belt hook. Honestly this is the first time this particular issue has come to my attention although I knew it could happen that somebody somewhere could have good reason to use that last set of holes. All that being said, why don't I go out into my shop and see if an adapter or other solution could be whipped up. I'm good with things like that and have done a number of custom mods to address other challenges. Please stand by while I look at this problem. I'll PM you later with some options. This one's on my dime of course. Mike Johnstone

Mike is a rock star and the lap dawg an amazing tool. I got two, one for each stick. Cool, elegant and does the work. You’ll be happy with it. Enviado do meu iPhone usando o Tapatalk

Re: Lap Dawg Installation Issue
It was made within the last 3 or 4 years, Michael. The Stick I’m holding in my avatar pic is not the one I currently own.
