Any EE's on the Stickist? I want to start playing with creating a pedal of sorts to create a controllable sine wave as a experimental electronics project. I found a function generator at Sparkfun to create a sine, triangle, or square wave. I can assemble the kit, but I am not sure about the output level. The page says the max output can be adjusted from 1 - 5v. Is there a good (ie simple) way to limit the output to a mixer or amp? Attenuator? Thanks in advance. |

You should be able to set the output from the function generator kit to any level you want by using passive attenuators made with fixed resistor values. They are very easy to calculate (the math is not that complicated) and make for just about any attenuation value you might need. Check out the following links for more information. http://www.uneeda-audio.com/pads/ http://www.tkk.fi/Misc/Electronics/circ ... o_mic.html http://vaneijndhoven.net/jos/switchr/index.html http://www.electronics-tutorials.com/ba ... uators.htm |

Thanks for the links. Time to get the function generator and let the learning begin. |
