TAGG Interface now available from Brian Baggett Wood Craft
As announced in the recent Tap In Time Podcast, Brian Baggett Wood Craft is now producing the TAGG Interface block. Many thanks to Gene Perry and creator Jon Taggart for making this happen and passing the baton. The TAGG is a wood block that allows one to play Stick mounted to a cymbal stand. These have been around for about 20 years, made by Jon Taggart and a few others. I am very happy to have these in stock for the foreseeable future. Here's a link to the TAGG info page. Please contact me with any questions. - https://brianbaggettwoodcraft.ca/tagg-interface/

Re: TAGG Interface now available from Brian Baggett Wood Cra
Can anyone recommend a cymbal / drum stand that can sit lower than a normal cymbal stand, So that you can use the tag interface sitting on something like an adjustable piano / keyboard bench or a tractor seat style drum Throne ? I notice DW makes a low 9000 series cymbal stand for things like ride cymbals , but the lowest height that it goes is 32” which I think is just a tad too high

N.B. I'm just mentioing the general idea as an avenue to consider & not quoting part numbers because: i) I've forgotten them & would need to dig out the orders. ii) My custom design doesn't attach in the same way as a TAGG anyway.

Thx for the comment. I thought there might be a solution like that but I’m not knowledgeable enough to even know what to look for parts wise Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

[quote="mike.hoegeman"]I thought there might be a solution like that but I’m not knowledgeable enough to even know what to look for parts wise /quote] I didn't know anything either. I just took a look around the Pearl & Gibraltar sites for bits that might be used together. The most important parts are clamps that can be adjusted (angled) flexibly so that you can position the Stick where you want it.
Since the TAGG is designed to fit on a cymbal fitting I guess the starting point might be a cymbal arm of some sort, then one or more clamps, & maybe a bar, to connect that cymbal arm to the stool or the stem of the cymbal stand, with the arm pointing is a suitable direction?

That's not a tested idea, just theory. Just the sort of thing I might be tempted to try if I had a TAGG, which I don't. PS. I do have the SC-UGC, and it's a fine piece of kit.

DavidWS wrote: Maybe something like a Gibraltar Accessory Rack Grabber clamp SC-UGC to clamp onto the stem at what ever height you found convenient, I believe this is what Gene Perry uses...some sort of Gibralter rack, so that his foot space is open to pedal board use instead of a cymbal stand tripod being in the way. If you zoom in to the screenshot of our web meeting with John Taggart, you can kind of get the gist (initial post above). I do not know if this Gibralter setup translates into something that would allow a player to be seated, as in what Mike Hoegeman is looking for.

I believe I've seen Gene's arrangement elsewhere here on Stickist too? Here's a shot of the SC-UGC attached to the stem of a cymbal stand, then some other bits between that and one half of my mount system. Attachment: 2024-05-02_14-55_DSCF9512_resize.jpg

Re: TAGG Interface now available from Brian Baggett Wood Cra
If anyone was sitting on the fence about these TAGGs...
Currently, there is only one left from the initial production. But I am in the process of a second production. These might be ready in a week or two.
Many thanks for your support!
