Post subject:  Railboard for sale is now SOLD

Hi folks. I haven’t played my Railboard in a year since getting my SG12. Now when I pick it up I’m missing the extra two strings so I e decided to sell my Railboard and upgrade to a 12string Grand. Once I sell it I’ll order the other Stick. After trying out a few 12 string grands with stick up pick ups I know that is what I’d like. Tried a 12 string Railboard but I’ve come to love the feel of the wood. I’m sad to let it go but I’m hoping someone will adopt it and give it a new home. I had Emmett sign it so the there is an autograph on it with my name. Perhaps my name can be removed and leave Emmett’s name. It played very well and I recorded all my early song of the month tunes on it. Check Rob Gellner on YouTube.

I asked around and everyone thought $2000.00 US seemed fair. Shipping would be extra. I’m having anxiety about shipping it and doing PayPal as I’ve never done that before. I’d meet any perspective people if anyone is near Detroit or Buffalo.

Included are both cables, neck strap soft case and extra set of classic strings.

PM me if interested and we can chat about the Railboard.

Are you doing this on your own or through something like Reverb ??
I'm new to the idea of on line selling as well, although I have had some incredible success with buying instruments on Reverb.

That's a real sweet Railboard, as I mentioned to the other Railboard poster - who actually has the one for sale which I originally wanted to buy from S.E. - I'm holding off on future purchases until I get my StickBass 8 from S.E. which will probably be in the fall/winter time frame.

You should have no problem selling this instrument.

The only problem might be enticing someone to buy it - I mean, there's not that many of us into these kinds of instruments as opposed to guitar or bass.... and it sounds like those of us who embrace Emmett's vision already have like 2 or 3 instruments !!

Good Luck, as she's a real beauty.
Bet she sounds great too !!

Hey Rob.

I think selling your Stick will be easy and painless. Especially if this board is the only place you're advertising. Everyone here generally knows someone else here. And if some random stranger showed up with funny buying requirements ("I'll send you a check for $5000 and you wire me the difference!"), it'll be obvious to avoid them.

I bought my current main Stick (10-string Padauk) from Harry Shifman, who I just finally met along with you in Michigan. But over a year ago, I never heard of him. I did a little stalking and discovered we had a mutual facebook friend (Edmonton, AB Stickist). And she assured me he wasn't a shyster!

It also helped that we used SE as a middleman of sorts. I wanted Emmett to put on a different tuning/gauge and do some work. I think I paid Harry 25%, then the remainder once it was in SE's hands. It worked for both of us.

Shipping: UPS shipping for a Stick to most anywhere in the US will run you approx. $150-220, depending on your insurance preference. This is recent as I just had SE repair a Stick last month.

I sent your info to a Regina bass player who's interested in Stick. It may be too soon for him though. But if you could sell in Canada, that should be easier as used Sticks are hard to come by up here.

All the best! - And hey...great album of original material, man! I am a huge sucker for new jazz from unknown artists. Very mature recording. Keep 'em coming.

Hey George. I’ll be trying on this forum only for a while. If no bites I might expand it to other sites. I’m in no hurry and would prefer someone on this forum get a quality instrument quickly.

Brian. I would trust most people on this site as you say everyone knows everyone. It’s a small community. Thanks for letting me know the costs of shipping to the states. I imagined it would be about at least 150. Thanks also for thinking of me and referring a stick sale to someone in Regina even if he isn’t ready to go for it at this time.

Thanks for the kind words about my music. I really liked your album too. It’s in my CD player in my car getting lots of listens. I like that you got a trombone player. Hope to see you soon.

Yes it is. But I’m in Canada. If you ever come this way you could take it for a test drive.

Alright, thanks for the quick reply. I've always wanted to go to Canada, so I'll let you know if I do.
