Possible scam warning! Too good to be true!
I can't believe my first post is to warn everyone about a possible scam
I have wanted a stick for years, ever since I heard Derek Dallenger busking in Bournemouth UK. A recent search turned up a 12 string grand for sale in the Shetland Isles, Scotland. I emailed the seller with a cheeky offer and was amazed when they said they would take the offer plus post and packing. Too good to be true? Yes! They wanted the full amount by bank transfer before shipment and the bak branch was in London. This worried me a bit and I played along for a while but searching other ads and sites, craigslist etc, turned up other things for sale from what seemed to be the same person using a different user name. They were all high value, rare items posted on the same day offered for a good price but not bargain basement. Some more digging this morning turned up a post mentioning the person by name, and the same set of bank details warning of a scam. [I am not going to post the details due to the possibility that they are genuine???? and sue me for whatever!]
But be warned all stickists - if you see an ad for a stick, a rare guitar or even a harley engine or rare gearbox for a number of different cars, from the Shetland Islands [Unst] and it seems too good to be true it probably is!
Now, does anyone have a nice, well loved stick for sale in the UK 10 or 12 string - I can go to about £1000 if it comes with all the necessary accessories.
All the best.
