Any stick players in Ottawa Ontario Canada region?
Hello everyone. I'm looking to fulfill a lifelong dream to get and play a stick. I was wondering if there are any players in the Ottawa Canada region that would consider introducing me to an actual instrument with a little hands-on session. I've played bass with a smattering of keyboards too over the years and would like to hear and briefly touch one before going the next step and buying one. I can be reached at mdc.hammer@gmail.com. Thank you all. Martin

I’m in Guelph so not so close to Ottawa but in the province anyway. Nice to see another Stickist in the province.

Nice to hear from you! Go Leafs! Wait, we have our own team. Go Sens!
I hope to one day actually get a Stick and become a real Stickist.

Just get one. Bassist? Are you looking to "fill out the parts that every ryhthm guitarist can't seem to do?" Get a 12-string. Bamboo (doesn't show the dents) and get a Stickup. That's the only pu I don't have on mine-I have PASV4 & ACTV2. Opens up new possibillities for basslines (Tony Levin, Nick Beggs etc.) and monster chords. Or any of the other Sticks. Just get one.

I'm not in Ottawa, but if you make it down to Toronto I could show you around the Stick. I've got a vintage early-80s 10-string tuned to classic tuning.
I echo everyone else's sentiments: take the plunge and get one! Give it at least a year before you decide whether it's for you, though you might know right away if you like it. Even if you don't end up sticking with it (sorry...) the resale value is pretty good and they're in short supply these days.

Thanks for the offer Dylan. I may be down this spring on the way to the Shaw Festival. If I haven't got one yet by then, I'll drop you a line for a quick visit. Martin

I'm so bad! Kevin Keith! Monster bass lines! And the reason I have an ACTV2!
