FREE HANDS FRIDAY #78 - SHTOMPAGE!
Hi Stick friends, I am putting together our next Free Hands Friday based on some feedback we had in our last Gearhounds discussion. The session will be devoted to Zoom MultiStomp pedals - get your SHTOMPAGE on with FHF #78! The focus will be on HOW the Stick, or other two handed tapping instrument, can be used with these versatile little multi-effects stomp boxes.
I am hopeful we can all make a 9pm EST discussion on Friday, October 7. We had a GREAT turn out for our last session, so I am hoping Boaz and Rod don't mind start early. We'll make it up to our friends across the pond with some early start times in future sessions - hope that's cool.
A Multistomp pedal can add a lot of dimension for either the bass or melody side of the Stick. In some cases, both sides of the Stick can be run through the Multistomp for a combined effect (reverb, chorus, etc.), allowing the output to be routed to separate amps with full separation.
Have questions about the Multistomp? Want to share some information you may have on the Multistomp? My goodness man, get on the hangout with us and let's talk Multstomp! Drop a line here if you would like to be included in the discussion - cheers! Gene

Id love to be a part of it but I dont have any multischtomp pedals yet. Just my big sky and a couple TC electronic pedals for now. Im saving my teaching money to get more pedals. Count me in.

Hey, Gene, sounds like a great idear. I've got two of these Zoomers and think they would be a great FHF topic...always looking to learn more.

Hey, we should also do some follow up on the Virginia Stick Camp! Let's see if we can get a hold of anyone that attended to give us all some updates.
I will update the title just as soon as we can get a commitment. Looking forward to getting the news out there!

Gene!
I'm going to be in your area on the 7th... I'm heading down there a day early for the FHA event. Can I join the group from your place?

Re: FREE HANDS FRIDAY #78 - SHTOMPAGE!
You must have read my mind since I just picked up an MS100BT Multistomp with three goals in mind:
1. Use in the effects loop of the Line 6 Helix. 2. Use for open mic events for a super portable rig. 3. Use as a pedal for my Casio XW-P1 Drawbar Organ.
I have had generally good results so far although the sound at the last open mic was terrible. I am sure it was user error. Everything sounded fine at home. It works very well for the rest of the applications.
I will be coming back from an appointment so I may miss the beginning, but I will try to join in.

Re: FREE HANDS FRIDAY #78 - SHTOMPAGE!
Oh yes! Perhaps we can push out the time a little Jeremy - would love to get some hands on experiences with it and maybe a couple of sound demos. The Zoom Stomp that Jeremy is referring to is the latest rev of their pedal and perhaps the most desirable for a Stickist, the Zoom MS-100BT- that BT is for BLUETOOTH, not Bass fyi. There are stereo ins and outs with full separation if you are looking for an all in one sound (reverb, compression, eq). Nice for smaller gigs. Definitely the one I am most interested in as sometimes I need to bring the QSC amp (which has no onboard reverb) but I don't have room for the pedalboard in the area where I am playing. Lots of options with purchasing new sounds from their online store (stompshare) and even getting 15 minutes of time to demo a sound. The Zoom equivalent of TonePrint, but they charge for it... That being said, you can ALL be certain I will be hitting up Jeremy to do a featured. He is arguably one of the most prolific recording Stickists (and keyboardist, Eigenharpist, zen drummer, etc) on the East coast. Would love to hear how you collaborate with other players AND how you manage your recordings.

Re: FREE HANDS FRIDAY #78 - SHTOMPAGE!
Hey Dean, would be great to see you. Do you want to come out to Mission Control here at the Lab? Check out the Mars Yard or visit Mission Control (see what kind of bandwidth we're getting on Voyager lolz). We could do that at the end of the day on Friday, let me know what you think.
Anyone else in the area let me know, I have room for 6 more if anyone wants to do a quick tour of the Pasadena JPL / NASA facility, probably around 3 or 4pm.
