What have I gotten myself into ?
Well after many, many years of being fascinated by the Chapman Stick (first seeing it with a band called Kittyhawk and of course Tony Levin with King Crimson) I took the plunge .......
I just got off the phone with a lovely lady who's name was Cambria at Stick Enterprises and she helped me place an order for the Railboard model. I was quoted a 2-3 month wait, but was also told it would likely be sooner.
I have been playing guitar for a long, long time and have an OK grasp of music theory and am a total gear nut. I have been into guitar synthesis since the early 90's and into all kinds of pedals and guitar modeling for quite some time as well.
I am a retired Electrical/Software Engineer and I now have more time to play and decided it was time to learn how to play the stick. I recently went to a local arts festival where there were 2 different stick players performing and I had a chance to chat with one for a bit. This rekindled my interest - So I will blame him for pushing me over the tipping point.
I am looking forward to participating (mostly reading /Learning ) from this forum.
First question is what books/DVDs /Lessons are recommended for a total nube at the stick (using classic tuning) ?
Thanks in Advance,
