https://www.mercari.com/us/item/m549103 ... oHMej4AoQ4 I'm tempted, but one look at the seller avatar has me concerned

There is no such thing as a 12-string polycarb, but perhaps a graphite?

In any event, the seller profile pic Image does not evoke a good deal of confidence. Apologies for racy images, just calling this the way I see it.

It's based out of Florida, they've been a member since 2024, no previous sales, no comments, nobody following.

I signed up for an account and asked them for the serial number., although it is barely legible in one of the pics. This should be good....

You could try a Google Lens search to see the origin of the profile pic ;)
Anyway, seems to be a very serious person

It looks like a Graphite to me. It is certanly no a polycarb.

The polycarb didn't have a 12 string option, didn't have a truss rod, didn't have an adjustable bridge, didn't have flaps, didn't have Rails, & didn't have an 'Block' pickup module.

This has all those. A 12 string Graphite would have all those.

Maybe they just got confused?

Edited to add 'Rails' to the list.

I see that too.

If it is 5882, that puts it just 20 away from my 10-string Graphite which left SE in 2009, so possibly from a 12-string batch in the same Graphite production run?

The pictures are definitely of a graphite. I have seen many listings that have graphite instead of polycarb or polycarb instead of graphite.

Here is a link to an old Ebay listing that has the same instrument and pictures.

Yeah Cory, that is the smoking gun.

That eBay listing, with considerably more images, states "Best offer accepted".

Well, since Graphite Grand #5882 is sitting upstairs in its case at the most moment, I think we can conclude that the ad is a scam.
