I love your bass tone. What is your signal chain to achieve it?

WerkSpace wrote: I love your bass tone. What is your signal chain to achieve it? Thanks for the question. For this festival I used the Quilter DirectAmp, it doesn't push air but is designed to send your sound (stereo) to the PA. It has a FRFR mode which is perfect for a full range instrument(s) like ours. The pedal itself has cab sim (including off for FRFR), amp, speaker, 3 each and EQ, limiter etc that you can pick and shape your tone, works great for just the melody side, too. I normally mix my levels with a small passive mixer before sending it to the directamp. However one concert I forgot my mixer and ended up use the Return on the fx send as my inputs for 2, and it worked quite well, so might explore that option more. also to note, I have the LaBella Black Nylons on for the lowest 4 strings of bass, which makes a big difference for me. Hope that helps! https://www.quilterlabs.com/collections ... /directamphttps://www.labella.com/product/750n-cb/

Thanks for the information. The LaBella Black Nylons appear to be too short for a Chapman Stick or Railboard but they have a really great tone. kaikurosawa wrote: WerkSpace wrote: I love your bass tone. Did you see they have an extra long scale as well? I have students who have put the black nylons on their Sticks for the lowest 3 bass strings. (I could be mistaken and maybe they had some other company's....)
